The IELTS Writing test is scored based on task response, coherence and cohesion, lexical resource, and grammatical range and accuracy.

For the IELTS Listening, Reading, and Writing tests, you should use a pencil. For the Speaking test, however, no writing is required.

On the day of the exam, you should bring your valid passport or ID, a pencil, and eraser. Make sure to arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
